On Thursday, September 11, the Village will begin a Village-wide special brush pick up for storm-related tree limbs and brush. Residents are encouraged to move all storm-related tree limbs and brush to the parkway (between the street and sidewalk) no later than 6:00 am on Thursday. On Thursday, September 11, 2014, the Village of Palatine will be hosting a memorial ceremony to honor those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. The ceremony will be held at the Palatine Firefighters Memorial at the corner of N. Brockway and W. Slade Streets in downtown Palatine. The Palatine Police Department is dedicated to keeping our roadways safe through aggressive traffic enforcement measures. With grant funding provided by the Illinois Department of Transportation, we are participating in the Labor Day Holiday Traffic Safety Crackdown. From August 15th through September 1st, we are saturating the roadways with extra officers focusing on impaired drivers and occupant protection. These are found to be the greatest contributing factors in serious injury and fatal motor vehicle crashes throughout Illinois. Read More

The Palatine Police Department is dedicated to making our roadways the safest they can be. To strengthen that effort, the Palatine Police Department partnered with the Illinois Department of Transportation in their 4th of July Holiday Traffic Safety Crackdown. Through a traffic safety grant, IDOT supplied funds to increase the number of uniformed Palatine Police officers on the roadways enforcing traffic laws over the 4th of July Holiday. The focus of this campaign was to get intoxicated motorists off the roads and make sure vehicle occupants are kept safe through the enforcement of seat belt and child restraint use. Read More

According to the Center for Disease Control, every day, about 10 people die from unintentional drowning and unfortunately, children ages 1 to 4 have the highest drowning rates.
