Local Governments
As with most townships in Illinois, the Township of Palatine encompasses 36 square miles. Located in Chicago's northwest suburbs our boundaries are Wilke Road on the east, Huntington Road on the west, Lake Cook Road to the north, and Central Road to the south. Serving all or part of: Palatine, Rolling Meadows, Inverness, Arlington Heights, Hoffman Estates, Barrington, South Barrington and Schaumburg.
The mission of the Palatine Public Library District is to encourage lifelong learning and enrichment through the exploration of books and other media and to provide services and materials which will promote a well-informed and literate community.
Each voter in Cook County is represented by officials on many levels, from U.S. Senator and County Commissioner to Park District and School Board Trustee. Because district boundaries vary, you may not have the same representatives as your neighbors across the street. Use the Directory of Elected Officials to find the public officials who represent your household. For most officials, their contact information and term dates are also listed.
