The Village of Palatine charges a user service fee for transport by Fire Department ambulances.
Basis of Fee: The user service fee is based on the Ambulance Service rates (Medicare Rate) established by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Fees is calculated based on the Medicare Rate established for the Palatine geographical area. Resident fees is indexed to 1.2 times the Medicare Rate while non-resident fees is indexed to 1.45 times the Medicare Rate. Fees are rounded to the nearest $1.00. Additional mileage charges is the rate established by Medicare
