Residential Rental Dwelling Licensing Program
Since 1990 the Rental Dwelling Licensing Program, created by the Village Council, has proven successful in helping tenants and property owners maintain living conditions and property values throughout the Village of Palatine.
Under the program, all residential rental properties are required to be licensed. This includes but is not limited to the following residential rental properties:
- Multi-Family Apartment Buildings
- Condominiums, Townhomes and Coach Homes
- Single Family Homes
Rental dwellings are inspected to ensure that properties are maintained for the health and safety of the residents as well as the community.
Inspections follow the Chapter 10 Existing Structures Maintenance and Occupancy Code of the village of Palatine Code of Ordinances. Chapter 10 adopts codes through the International Code Council (ICC) such as the International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC).
