Oak Street Terminus Project
Following the installation of the storm water lift station and drainage system in 2009, storm sewer improvements along Benton Street and the completion of gaps in the public sidewalk along Benton Street through the low area in 2010, the installation of hammerhead type termini are to be constructed on Oak St. to enhance the area from both a functional and aesthetic perspective.
Removal of the roadway on Oak St. is the only cost effective means to maintain the area. Reconstruction of the road way due to the soils involved would involve costly measures to ensure longevity of the pavement and the aesthetics of the area.
For 2011 work along the Oak Street corridor through the low area is proposed.
