The Village of Palatine seeks qualified applicants for the position of ‘Part-Time Police Records Clerk’. The two open positions are part-time 20 hours per week working in the Records Section of Palatine’s Police Headquarters. The duty hours will be 4 hours per day, Monday – Friday, 9:00am-1:00pm or 2:00pm-6:00pm, with some flexibility possible. One position is intended to cover the morning hours, and the other the afternoon hours.

Primary responsibilities include data entry and answering citizen inquiries, both over the phone and in person, with an emphasis on extensive customer service. Other duties include fielding “Freedom of Information” requests, preparing periodic statistical reports and other general clerical work. A strong history of providing exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers is a must. Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and quickly learn and apply new information & computer technology is also critical. Bilingual is a plus, but not required. A High School diploma is required, and at least two years clerical and/or customer service experience is preferred.

Starting hourly pay is $21.71 per hour.

The Village of Palatine has seasonal/temporary positions available in the Public Works Department for the winter 2016/2017 season. Preferred candidates will have prior snow plow operations experience, especially working on streets.
A valid Illinois Class “B” commercial driver’s license (CDL), with air brake endorsement, is required. Ability to work on an as-needed, temporary basis required. Work is weather dependent with NO guarantee of hours. Hourly rate: $20.00.
