Jun 22, 2015 "Click it or Ticket" "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" Campaign
The Palatine Police Department is dedicated to keeping our roadways safe through aggressive traffic enforcement measures. With grant funding provided by the Illinois Department of Transportation, we are participating in the Fourth of July Holiday Traffic Safety Crackdown. From June 22 through July 5, we will be saturating the roadways with officers focusing on impaired drivers, occupant protection, and speeding. These are found to be the greatest contributing factors in serious injury and fatal motor vehicle crashes throughout Illinois. Read More

On Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at 4:42 a.m., the Palatine Fire Department was dispatched to an activated fire alarm at 1275 E. Baldwin Ln. in Palatine at the San Tropei Condos. Read More
Jun 09, 2015 Structure Fire - 250 S. Hicks Road
On Monday, June 8, 2015 at 8:37 a.m., the Palatine Fire Department was called to an activated fire alarm at Weber-Stephens, 250 S. Hicks Rd. in Palatine. The first Palatine Fire Department crews arrived on the scene at 8:42 a.m. and reported light smoke coming from north side of the manufacturing warehouse. The first fire companies stretched a hose line into the building for fire attack while additional firefighters searched the building to confirm that all of the employees evacuated safely. Once the power was shut down to the affected area of the building, the fire was quickly extinguished and was isolated to a single piece of manufacturing equipment. Read More

The Village's outdoor warning siren system vendor will be working on the Village's emergency sirens system today (Tuesday, June 9). This work may set off the siren systems throughout the Village. So please, if you hear an unexpected emergency siren going off today, do not panic. You can check local television stations to determine whether there may be a weather emergency taking place. On Saturday, June 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Palatine Police Department will give the public an opportunity to rid their medicine cabinets of expired, unused prescription drugs. Bring the unwanted medications, no questions asked, to the Palatine Police Department located at 595 N. Hicks Road or the Palatine Opportunity Center located at 1585 N. Rand Rd. for disposal. May 26, 2015 Kids Life Jacket Loaner Program
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, about 10 people die daily from unintentional drowning with children ages 1 to 4 having the highest drowning rates. In an effort to prevent some of these unfortunate incidents, the Palatine Fire Department has partnered with the BoatU.S. Foundation to provide free loaner life jackets for children. Read More

On Friday, May 15, 2015 at 8:18 p.m., the Palatine Fire Department was called to a report of a house fire at 150 South Oak Street in Palatine. The first Palatine Fire Department crews arrived on the scene at 8:21 p.m. and reported smoke coming from the roof and second floor windows. Neighbors outside reported occupants were still inside the house and trapped. The first fire companies made entry into the house through the front door and second floor windows for search and rescue. The Palatine Police Department is dedicated to making our roadways the safest they can be. To strengthen that effort, the Palatine Police Department partnered with the Illinois Department of Transportation in their St. Patrick’s Day Holiday Traffic Safety Crackdown. Through a traffic safety grant, I.D.O.T. supplied funds to increase the number of uniformed Palatine Police officers on the roadways enforcing traffic laws over the St. Patrick’s Day Holiday (March 13th – 22nd). The focus of this campaign was to get intoxicated motorists off the roads and make sure vehicle occupants are kept safe through the enforcement of seat belt use. Read More
