“Click it or Ticket” “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over”

March 10, 2014
The Palatine Police Department is dedicated to keeping our roadways safe through aggressive traffic enforcement measures.  With grant funding provided by the Illinois Department of Transportation, we will be participating in the St. Patrick’s Day Holiday Traffic Safety Crackdown.  From March 13th through March 17th, 2014, the Palatine Police Department will be saturating the roadways with extra officers focusing on enforcement of impaired driving and occupant protection laws.  These are found to be the greatest contributing factors in serious injury and fatal motor vehicle crashes.

In addition, the Palatine Police Department will be conducting a Roadside Safety Check from the late evening hours on Friday, March 14th through the early morning hours of Saturday March 15th in the area of Algonquin and Roselle Roads.  According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the midnight to 3:00 am timeframe is the deadliest time on Illinois roads.  This timeframe also has the lowest occupant restraint use involving motor vehicle fatalities.

Should you be a witness to erratic or impaired driving, please call 9-1-1.
