The Palatine Police Department is dedicated to keeping our roadways safe through the enforcement of traffic laws.  With grant funding provided through the Illinois Department of Transportation, the Palatine Police Department will be saturating the roadways with uniformed traffic patrols over the next couple of weeks.  These officers will be looking for impaired drivers, vehicle occupants choosing not use safety restraint devices, and speeding violations.  These violations are found to be the greatest contributing factors in serious injury and fatal motor vehicle crashes throughout Illinois.  These officers will be working the late evening/early morning hours. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the midnight to 3:00 am timeframe is the deadliest time on Illinois roads.  These hours have also shown the lowest occupant restraint use where motor vehicle fatalities have occurred.

We are asking that you do your part to help make our roadways the safest they can be.  Please drive responsibly and report any erratic or impaired driving by calling 9-1-1.
