Fire Station 81 Grand Opening
June 2, 2011
The Palatine Fire Department will be celebrating the grand opening of Fire Station 81 at 1215 N. Quentin Road, beginning at 9:00am on Saturday June 11, 2011. Attending the ceremony will be Village of Palatine officials along with active and retired Palatine Firefighters. The ribbon cutting ceremony will begin at 9:30am. The fire engine and ambulance housed at the station will be on display. Tours of the fire station will be given and refreshments will be served. The fire station is staffed with a 3 man jump company twenty four hours a day.
Palatine Fire Department staff identified the need to improve response times to the Northwest Corner of the village and with the backing of the Village administration and the Village Council; Station 81 was relocated from 455 W. Dundee Road to its new location. Additionally as a result of the Palatine and Plum Grove Roads improvement project the Masonic lodge at that location was required to be vacated. The Masons will be moving into the old fire station on Dundee Road and will be renovating the facility to meet their needs.
