635 S. Stuart - Residential Structure Fire

On Thursday July 12th at 11:48 p.m., the Palatine Fire Department responded to a report of a garage fire at 635 S. Stuart Avenue in Palatine. The caller told the dispatcher that heavy black smoke was coming out of the attached garage and that everyone was out of the house. The first Palatine Fire Department crew arrived on the scene in 4 minutes and reported that smoke was showing from the front and flames from the rear of the attached garage. Firefighters utilized two 1 ¾ inch pre connected hose line to bring the fire under control in 19 minutes .Fire Department crews searched the building and verified that there was nobody inside the home. There were no injuries reported. 18 members of the Palatine Fire Department along with personnel from the Rolling Meadows Fire Department, Palatine Rural Fire Department responded to the scene. Damage was estimated at $50,000.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
