Palatine Fire Department Open House

The Palatine Fire Department places a high priority on public education and will reach out to the community at an open house Saturday, Oct. 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Visitors will experience an interactive display of firefighting in a safe environment, rescue emergency medical services and specialty team skills. The annual event is an opportunity for residents to learn about fire behavior, how to operate a fire extinguisher and even spray water from a fire hose.
Come to Fire Station 84 to meet Palatine firefighters who are all certified paramedics and view equipment and fire and rescue vehicles. Representatives from the Police Department and Palatine Emergency Management also will be present to answer questions. Refreshments will be served throughout the day.

The Palatine Fire Department is a well-equipped, well-staffed and well-trained community service provider whose number one priority is to save lives and minimize property loss during an emergency. However, knowing and practicing fire prevention skills is the first line of protecting lives. There are a number of different programs the Fire Department participates in throughout the year to serve residents and keep them safe.
