Wreath Laying Ceremony

On Friday October 1, 2010 the Palatine Fire Department will be conducting a ceremony to recognize the service and sacrifice of Palatine Volunteer Firefighters Wesley Comfort Jr. and Leonard Nebel. 
 
The ceremony was held at the Palatine Firefighters Memorial at the corner of  N. Brockway St. and W. Slade St. in downtown Palatine, IL.
 
A wreath will be presented by members of the Palatine Fire  Department.     
 
Mayor Jim Schwantz proclaimed  Friday, October 1, 2010 as Palatine Volunteer Firefighters Day of Remembrance and calls for the flag of the United States at all Village of Palatine facilities be flown at Half-Staff on this day in honor of Palatine Volunteer Firefighters Wesley R. Comfort Jr. and Leonard Nebel, who lost their lives in the line of duty.
