Station 82

Station 82Built in 1992, and noticeably the largest Palatine Fire station, Station 82 is frequently the busiest in regards to emergency call volume. Formerly known as Station 19, it is located on Hicks Road just south of the intersection with Dundee Road, and is frequently referred to as the fire station "behind the Jewel." The neighborhoods served by this fire station include some of the most densely populated residential areas in Palatine, resulting in the higher call volume. Station 82 is staffed 24 hours a day by 5 personnel including one Lieutenant and four Firefighter/Paramedics.

Engine 82

Engine 82 is a 2011 Crimson pumper with a 1,500 gallon per minute pump, a 500 gallon water tank and over 2,000 feet of fire hose, ranging from 1.5 inch to 4 inch sizes. It is equipped with Advanced Life Support medical gear and carries a thermal imaging camera and a selection of hand and power tools for firefighting and rescue. It also has an 8000 watt PTO generator and flood lights, 28 foot and 14 foot ground ladders and a pre-piped deck gun capable of flowing 1,000 gallons per minute.
