Blood Drives

The Palatine Board of Health and Environmental Health Division hosts three blood drives annually at the Palatine Village Hall in Room Community B. The blood drives are conducted by LifeSource, Chicagoland’s Blood Center. The following blood drives have been scheduled:

Thursday, April 26, 2018 from 12:00 – 6:00 PM

Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 12:00 – 6:00 PM

Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 12:00 – 6:00 PM

• Approximately 38 percent of the national population is eligible to donate blood

• Less than 10 percent of the national population donates blood

• Each year, 4.5 million Americans would die without lifesaving blood transfusions

• Every two seconds, someone needs blood

The actual donation for whole blood takes about 10 – 15 minutes. The entire whole blood donation process, from registration to post-donation refreshments, takes about one hour. With every blood donation, you truly are supporting the lives of those in your community. Use LifeSource’s online DonorPass to complete the health history questionnaire before arriving at the donation location to save time. Blood drive donor walk-ins are always welcome.
