Typically most commercial properties are required to provide one space per 300 square feet (sf) of gross floor area. Parking requirements depends on the type of business. Detailed breakdowns of parking requirements are located in the Zoning Ordinance, Section 7.03 (b)(1).

There are several ways to find out about the outcome of any Plan Commission or Zoning Board of Appeals:
- Contact the Planning and Zoning Department at 847-359-9047.
- The minutes of the meeting are typically posted on the Village’s website about one to two weeks after the meeting.
- Watch Channel 6, if you have cable service within the Village of Palatine.
If any of the requests do not conform to the Zoning Ordinance, a special use or variation may be required.
