We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our Village. We strive to be a financially sound, responsive, and responsible Village government recognized for excellence in municipal services delivered by a workforce dedicated to the Palatine community. The Village offers a number of programs and services designed to enhance the quality of life for our residents, and we hope you will take full advantage of them.

Below you will find a brief overview of key Village services and regulations. Should you ever have any questions or concerns, you can always contact the Village’s general line at 847-358-7500. You can also contact your District’s Councilman.

Utility Services

Village Utility Services include water, sewer, and refuse collection. Please contact the Finance Department at 359-9082 to activate your account. For more information about Utility Services, see Utility Billing. Village utility payments can be made at the Finance Counter, by mail, or through our secure payment portal.

Animal Registration

All dogs and cats must be licensed by the Village and wear tags. Please note that only three pets are allowed per household (some exceptions apply). For more information, visit our Animal Registration Page.

Refuse, Yard Waste, & Recycling

Household refuse and recycling is collected once a week by Groot, with yard waste pickup occurring between April and November. All refuse MUST be placed at the curb no later than 6:30 a.m. on your scheduled collection day.

On-Street Parking Regulations

  • Overnight Parking: Parking on Village streets is prohibited from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. Residents are allowed to request overnight parking up to 5 nights per month. Permission can be obtained from the Police Department by either calling 847-359-9000 or by visiting our Overnight Parking Page.
  • Winter Parking: Parking is prohibited on Village streets for 24 hours after a snowfall with an accumulation of two or more."
  • Downtown Parking: Please refer to the posted signage for the applicable restrictions.

Inoperable and recreational vehicles are prohibited from parking on any Village street at all times. Failure to abide by these parking regulations can result in a citation, the vehicle being towed, and/or subsequent fines.
