Brad Helms has been a lifetime resident of Palatine, accompanied by his wife and two children. Public service runs in Brad’s family: his grandfather, Orville Helms, transformed the Palatine volunteer fire department into a full-time force, pioneering Illinois' first paramedic program. Brad’s father, Orrin, dedicated 35 years to Palatine's Public Works, retiring as Water Department Superintendent. For 40 years, Brad nurtured the Palatine Hills Golf Course, earning recognition from national and regional associations.
Brad has an Associate's Degree, Executive Development Certification, and Local Government Leadership training, using his expertise and fresh perspectives to tackle constituent concerns.
Brad has been on the Palatine Village Council since 2005, with a mission to amplify the legacy of Palatine that five generations of his family calls home and to ensure it remains one of America's most vibrant, inclusive communities.
