Once an application has been deemed complete, requests processed through the Planning and Zoning Commission often take between 7-9 weeks to review and proceed through the all the public hearings. Some projects may take longer and time frames are based on the size and complexity of the request.
When a decision is made by the Village Council, an Ordinance for the request is created and signed into law by the Mayor. All approved applications then pass on to the building department to ensure all approved requests are reflected in the final building plans, if applicable. Below is a chart illustrating the Village of Palatine’s Planning and Zoning request process.
