Illinois Premise Alert Program Protects Special Needs Residents

Under the Illinois Premise Alert Program, residents with special needs are requested to provide information to local public safety agencies to allow first responders to deal with emergency situations in an appropriate manner involving special needs individuals.

Information provided to the Palatine Police and Fire departments is stored in a database and kept confidential to be used only by police, fire and emergency medical personnel responding to specified locations. This data will alert first responders to handle each specific emergency.

Residents will not receive any type of preferential treatment by providing information to public safety agencies and first responders will not be held liable for duties relating to the reporting of the special needs individuals.
