Founded in 2007, members of the Palatine Police and Fire Departments banded together to form the Palatine Police and Fire Benevolent Association. This is a non-profit group that is primarily a charitable organization seeking to assist those in our community and professions during troubled times.
Through fundraisers such as our annual softball tournament, golf outing, pancake breakfast and chili cook off we are able to raise money that we use to assist those in the community through difficult times as well as provide help to fallen or injured area firefighters and police officers. During these fundraisers members of the association, friends and family members donate their valuable time to ensure each of these events are a success that further the goals of the organization.
Community Support
We also rely on the constant support of the community through your generous contributions or your attendance at these events. Your support furthers our efforts and ability to help those in need. To date we have given over $60,000 to area children and families suffering through medical crises, fallen, sick or injured police officers and firefighters, families that have been displaced due to crime or fire and local charities. The Association is also very active in the Toys for Tots campaign by raising funds and having its members shop for the children.
How You Can Help
If you would like to find out more about the organization or how you can help our efforts please contact Police Officer Martin Van der Hoek or Firefighter Dan Vrbancic. Again, we thank you for your support.
