with the CSS Portal

The Village of Palatine’s online Customer Self-Service (CSS) portal provides residents, contractors, and business owners with a convenient way to access community development services. Through the CSS portal, users can search for property information, apply for permits and licenses, request inspections, and more.

The portal also allows users to start and save applications for permits or plans, submit them at a later time, and track their status with real-time updates.

This online platform enhances accessibility and streamlines communication, reducing the need for phone calls or office visits while keeping residents and businesses actively engaged in the community development process.

PLEASE NOTE

All permanent signs require building permits including "face changes." All signs are regulated by the Planning and Zoning Department.

Sign Permit Submittal Requirements

Sign permit shall be submitted through the CSS Online Permitting Portal

Sign permit submittal requirements include:

  • 1 Copy of a plat of survey or site plan 
  • 1 copy of drawings/plans for sign in color, which shall include dimensions and attachment detail.
  • Pylon/Monument signs require 1 sets of design and foundation details sealed by an Illinois licensed structural engineer.
  • Electrical work to be shown on plans
  • All contractors must be licensed and bonded
