Standard Building Permits

Due to the COVID-19 virus, The Building Department has suspended the pre-submittal meeting requirements and is closed to the public. 

The Building Department will accept emailed or mailed permit submittals for all permits. If choosing to email, please email completed applications and one set of supporting documents to:

BldgInspections@palatine.il.us

Please note that the attachment size limitation is 50mb and 10 pages for drawings 11x17 or larger. You will receive a confirmation email once the documents are received. If no confirmation email is received within 24 business hours, please call our office at (847) 359-9042.

Include a signed permit application and if your submittal is mailed, 3 sets of supporting documents for residential projects and 6 sets for commercial projects.

Please understand that we are currently following the CDC guidelines for social distancing and request that you do the same. 

In addition, please be advised that due to COVID-19 reduced staffing our current plan review timelines have been suspended. We will review your project as efficiently as possible. We appreciate your understanding.
