Spring Clean-Up Week

Residents looking to de-clutter and get organized this season may want to take advantage of Palatine's annual Spring Clean-Up Friday, May 5 through Wednesday, May 10, 2017.

During this time garbage bags and other refuse items may be placed at the curb throughout the weekend in advance of scheduled collection days without ordinance violations. Refuse will be collected only on the regular collection day.

Prohibited Items


Prohibited items include:
  • Appliances
  • Electronic waste
  • Paints and household chemical waste
  • Tires

Bulk Items


One bulk item (too large to be bagged) may be placed at the curb. Examples of bulk items include:
  • Barbecue grill
  • Bicycle
  • Exercise equipment
  • Furniture
  • Lawn mower
  • Mattress and box spring
  • Snow blower (gas and propane tanks must be removed)
  • Sofa
Construction debris must be properly bundled and is limited to a maximum volume of two cubic yards.
